Molas

Two Herons
The multicolored outlining is a technique often used by Kuna women.

Jungle Mola
This runner has two cats reversed in the center with toucans on each side. The toucans are reversed but have different details to add interest. The end sections each have a turtle and lizard in opposite locations. They are all hooked in slightly different green wools.

Crocodile Mola
The background is filled with leaf and labyrinth shapes. Note that the background of the leaves is the same orange as the background. In molas the motifs are often the same color as the background. The outlines of color around the motifs define them. This rug features a different border on each side, representing the types of trim used in the construction of mola blouses.

Noah's Ark Mola
This rug was hooked by my mother, Ellen Savage.  She chose to use non-traditional mola colors - browns, tans and greys.

Sucha

Mola Bag
