Punch Needle Rugs
After seeing a demonstration of rug hooking at the NY State Fair I was smitten but it wasn't until I saw someone hooking with yarn at a camp store in Maine that I saw my way in. Yarn! This was my first design and first hooked piece.

Found this pattern in one of my old magazines. Dec.1990 Better Homes and Gardens.Claire had instructions for making it a full size yarn hooked rug. I decided to do it with punch needle. i am hooking rugs now and want to do this with wool strips sometime.
The jars are all canning jars that I fill with potpourris made from my garden. I cover the lids with made-to-size designs that I drew and punched. The lids were made with wool yarn. I give them away for Christmas.
Quilts on a Line was inspired by Country Threads quilt shop. It despicts 3 versions of their quilt designs hanging on a washline.
Quilters covet this little Singer Featherweight sewing machine. This is my machine made in the 1950s.
This winter scene depicts a horse, sleigh and driver making the rounds of neighbouring houses. It displays in our Southern Ontario home as a wall hanging and was punched with an Oxford needle.
This was made in response to challege for the Morgan County Fair in Berkeley Springs WV. It is an original design in the manner of Escher.

My first punch rug, made for my Mother in Law's 80th birthday. Drew a star template and rotated it in each square. Used many odds and ends of wool yarn.Taught by Sara Burghoff and Punch Needle Rug Hooking book.
