"Guatemala has such a rich textile history created in a joyous abundance of colour. I wanted to honour this tradition in this piece started while on a tour with Multicolores. The stylized horse is often used in woven fabrics, which are usually as wide as a backstrap loom. The pieces are then joined together with a randa or embroidery strip. Ikat is often used in the woven fabrics, and it is mimiced in this piece with striped red and white T-shirt.

The wonderful rich use of colours was such fun to work with in T-shirts, a new material for me."
