"This rug was the subject of a class at WTW: Western Teachers' Workshop. The theme of the day was 'black animals'. This pattern has a plaid background, and I was interested to try my hand at 'weaving.'

Our teacher for this project, Chris Ward, brought lots of books about Scottish Plaids. I looked through a book and flagged the plaids that appealed to me. All my favorites had yellow greens and light blues.

Adding a bit of yellow, orange and black along with the yellow green and light blue, I made up my plaid as i hooked the 'warp'. I decided to add burgundy to the mix to go with the 'dirty purple' background for 'Scotty.'"
