Dear Beginning Rug Hooker

By: Sharon A. Smith

Protective pockets for electronic devices can be hooked in traditional, primitive, or geometric designs—whatever strikes your fancy.

With all the gazillion electronics in our lives, it is fun to give yours a personalized twist. Whether you carry around a tablet or smartphone, your gadget deserves special treatment. Of course, covers are available to purchase in stores—plastic and useful. But why not create a unique hooked design to show off your creativity, to customize your device, and to provide a sturdy, thick fabric pocket that protects your gadget? You need this pocket—and this project is easy, even for beginners.

This article will help you create a slim pocket pouch with a button closure on top for any tablet. You can draw your own design in primitive, traditional, geometric, abstract, or painterly style.
