Maple Leaf

Maple Leaf

Are you ready for fall? This Maple Leaf design is the perfect quick piece to hook for an autumn addition to your home décor.

Designed by Joan Moshimer in the late 1970s, Maple Leaf is a fabulous pattern to hook. How might you use it in your home? Think about hooking a trivet or small table mat. It works well for a chair pad as well. And think beyond the chair seat! You can use it as a footstool cover, in a tobacco basket, as a pillow or a table mat. The size makes it adaptable to many uses around the house. Hook it in tweeds or plaids. Hook it with stripes or heathers. Or consider going fancy: Keep the background simple and “dress the leaf up” with dyed wools, textures, even velvet for the veins. The leaf is simple, but the ways to hook it are endless—simple and plain, or lush and fancy. Do you need a pillow? Square off the pattern for the perfect autumn pillow. Or use a longer piece of linen: Hook Maple Leaf more than once, in various sizes, to create a wonderful table runner. Your options are limitless! RHM
