While the first week of January brings a welcome respite from the holiday frenzy, it doesn’t take very long for those dreaded winter doldrums to set in. Gray skies, long nights, and snow piling up take their toll on our psyche. It’s going to be a few months before we see the daffodils pop. 
Ready to spring forward? Pull out those light and bright wools from your stash. These three-dimensional eggs are creative winter projects with no actual hooking involved.  Quillies, accordion-gathered wool strips, and pieces of jewelry are fitted together to cover the egg shape. It’s a bit of a crazy DIY puzzle. No vintage baubles in your house? No worries. They are optional. The entire process is done in bits and bobs over a number of days, which makes it a perfect side project while you’re hooking another rug. Spring is just around the corner, hiding in your wools
