"I love Japanese cranes with red caps flying in the air. They live in and around the Amur, very cold areas in Russia in summer, then come down to a bit warmer areas in Japan, especially in Hokkaido in winter.
They have no hair/feathers at the head top, so red is their skin. They fly so elegantly and graciously. For us Japanese, they are the symbols of winter. They fly with a couple or taking their child/ren with them. They fly back to Russia before spring. This rug’s optic angle is at the even level of their flying, and the way I hooked the sky diagonally is showing flying direction."
