"Sometime around 1999, I began to explore the concepts of value and chroma in-depth. In 2001 I completed Log Cabin Spin, which was inspired by a design by quilter Georgia Bonesteel. I used 'as is,' undyed, textured wool, which I separated into relative piles of light, medium, and dark values. I also made piles of red and black for the polka dots. The only solid wools I used was a black 'as is' for the grid lines and a solid red Pendleton shirt. The dimensions of this rug are 49” x 69”. It got lost in the mail as I was sending it to Rug Hooking magazine to be included in an article, and I hooked the entire rug a second time before it was found!"
