Sheri Bennett saw Pineapple Antique in a book and felt drawn to the warm pattern with its cheerful red pineapples. "At the time," she explains, "I had no idea what rug hooking was." But she never forgot that rug, or how well its colors would complement her home.

Years later, now a hooker, Sheri attended Anne Boissinot's 1999 class at the Castle in the Clouds rug camp, where she started bringing Pineapple Antique to life. After she returned home, Sheri asked teacher Ramona Maddox for additional help with the rug's colors. Together, they spent time at Ramona's studio, Little House, picking just the right hues. Sheri gave much thought to her background colors, and Ramona dyed them for her. Ramona let Sheri choose the colors she wanted and provided input when it was needed. Sheri finished Pineapple Antique in just under a year, in time for the 2000 Castle in the Clouds camp. She was proud to exhibit it at the camp's show, "a fitting place for it since it was started there."
