"Seven Sisters is an old Pearl McGown pattern that is not listed in the Cushing catalog of all her patterns. However, Nancy suggested it; I called Cushing, and as always they were eager to help. After searching through uncatalogued items, they found it! I took it to MD Shores with Nancy’s color-planned wool. The red rose, the "leading lady," represents Pearl and the other flowers each of her sisters. The large scroll leaves went quickly, but I soon realized that the 4 swatches each of 4 shades would not be enough. With the new batch of 16 swatches, I was able to use the 2 batches in opposite corners so that the eye would not pick up the differences, what I learned from Meredith LeBeau when I began Heirloom’s 7’ x7’ Baghdad, another of the 'great unfinished.'"
