"My daughter-in-law gave me the photo of my grandson from which I based this hooking on. This hooking did cause me some aggravation. It wasn’t the figure that gave me trouble--it was dyeing for the background. Once I settled on the right grey, I had a difficult time duplicating it a second time. This would not have been a problem if I had dyed enough yardages the first time. I have more than once paid the price for underestimating the correct yardage. When I did the hooking of Angus’s sister, Ivy (Mona Lisa Smile), I decided to use a similar background so the two hookings could hang as a pair. I had learned my lesson from this hooking and made sure of enough dyed background for Ivy’s hooking."
