The Wright Stuff

High-Flying Inspiration for an Award-Winning Work of Art

People often ask me where I get my rug design ideas. I wish I had a magical bin filled with inspiration, but I don’t. So I rely on other sources all around me. Sometimes I see a photograph, or hear a song, or read something that triggers an image in my mind. I’ve got stacks of drawings I’ve made over the years just begging to become rugs, so there’s always something for me to choose from.

Some of my ideas come from current events or news stories. I’m a native of Dayton, Ohio, and one of our claims to fame is being the home of the Wright Brothers. They grew up here, went into business with a bicycle shop, and went on to design the first manned airplane, named the Wright Flyer
