Baffin Boy Trilogy
A new look for an old pattern
I first saw the Baffin Boy pattern in the July/August 1990 issue of Rug Hooking magazine. It was identified as having been designed for Chatelaine magazine. Research showed that Margaret Rittenhouse Rowan and Ted Rowan had a joint project between Chatelaine magazine and the Rittemere Studio starting in 1967 for Canada’s centennial year. This exposure provided a large customer base in North America and overseas. It is unclear exactly what year the Baffin Boy came out of this union. In 1990, it is noted that the copyright belonged to Rittermere-Hurst-Field.
