Things I learned from Diane

By: Tamara Pavich
Steadfast Joy

Diane Cox was a bright light in the rug hooking world, shining out from her corner of the UK. In her cottage by the sea in Penzance, Cornwall, Diane made her unique kind of art, applying her needle and thread, or her wool and hook, or often using both stitching and hooking to bring a mat into its fullest expression. She made her art with steadfast joy until her untimely death in early July of 2020. She was a faithful friend, a founding member of the rug-hooking group the Myrtles, a loving wife and “mum,” and a doting granny who carried treats in her pockets for the little ones.
