"This rug was designed for a student who wanted lots of birds on a large rug. I researched each bird, placing them by color and size on the tree. This was the most fun part. My daughter, Sondra Kellar, hooked on it, then when we visited, she would bring it and I would hook on it awhile! The tree was interesting to hook, as we used many different textures to get the effect of bark. We kept the sky and ground fairly simple to showcase the birds and birdhouses. It took us about one year to finish hooking it."
