"One of the highlights of my life is a 18 day trip down the Grand Canyon in a dory. It was awe-inspiring as we progressed deeper and deeper down the layers of rock, further and further in time with a sense of how small we were in the scheme of things developed as we became dwarfed by the canyon walls. The sense of grandeur, vibrancy, and scale were important to this piece.
Only the dory was hooked. The all the rest was punched with a wide variety of yarns, cloth strips and textures. Colour was exaggerated for the south-western landscape."
