The beauty of small projects is that you can hook them up and finish them just in time for that thank you gift, to welcome a new baby, or to celebrate a springtime birthday. Small projects are also a great way to work on your newly acquired rug hooking skills and to feel a sense of accomplishment and completion.

Birds singing in spring lift our spirits. It’s as if they are singing “Hello” or “Good Morning” or “Isn’t this a glorious day!”  One of my favorite birds is the goldfinch, one of the brightest and cheeriest of birds.

This 9"-round mat can be hooked using left-over wool from your stash.
