A couple of years ago, a few members of Ottawa Olde Forge Rug Hooking group participated in a challenge based in Nova Scotia. For a nominal entry fee, you received a brown bag with items to include in the piece you created. Any materials, in addition to those in the bag, and any techniques could be used. I loved my brown bag contents: a pair of vintage cream kid leather gloves, a doily, a strip of lace, some roving, and a few other bits and bobs.
