Coding Value through Hue

I recently had a rug accepted into Celebration, a first for me. The artwork, Losing Focus, incorporated a lot of shading to achieve a sense of distance and dimension. While working on this piece, I needed to fine-tune signals about value to accommodate my working preferences. I found a method that works for me, and I want to share my techniques with other rug hookers who may wish to try more shading or who may wish to multi-task while rug making.
