Wrapping Up 2020
We’re approaching the end of 2020—and it has been quite a year, hasn’t it? Everywhere we turned there were changes in the air, new situations to adapt to, adjustments to make in our personal lives. It strained our flexibility and positive outlook at times, but the good news is that with all that change comes new opportunities.
While we are always sad to see rug hooking events closing down or postponing to another year, we are pleased to step into the vacuum and try some new ventures, like our online events. The Celebration 30 virtual webinars were a hit, and told us that we need to plan more events. We discovered a new way to reach our readers in this new situation—what an opportunity! Keep an eye open for what else we have planned for the end of 2020 and for 2021. We’re excited to meet you online and share even more rug hooking treasures and experiences.
If you missed the Celebration 30 online events, or if you would like to see those spectacular rugs again, you can still view them on our website: go to rughookingmagazine.com and look for the Virtual Celebration tab.
Early this year we put out a call for speech bubbles, and boy, oh boy, did you respond! Maybe it was the frustration of staying at home, or perhaps it was the appeal of small projects in an unsettled time. Whatever the reason, we received quite a few clever pieces. Look for those in the upcoming January/February 2021 issue—what an entertaining way to start the new year! Thanks to everyone who participated.
So as 2020 comes to an end and we look forward to a brand-new year, I hope you all have exciting and satisfying hooking projects on your frames. Winter is the best time to hook, isn’t it? Surround yourself with colorful wool and enjoy these cozy days.
And as you hook, remember that all of us at RHM wish all of you the peace and joy of the season.
Celebration 31 now open for entries!
