"My husband suggested a rug like a large wooden folk art alligator piece in our collection. The alligator acquired buddies playing drums and bass fiddle, and the trio ended up at night around a campfire with owls in trees looking down on the merriment. Hence the rug name. The animals were all fun to hook in bright colors, a batch of blue swatches made a good sky, a dip-dyed wool was used for fire and a plaid worked for trees. The hills had to be rehooked in many places to get colors which had enough contrast but still looked distant."
