A Good Finish, Part Four

Part 4 of a Series on Finishing Techniques

By: Carol Shewan
A Good Finish Part Four

A show binding is a lovely finish that works very well for any style rug, but I particularly like it for wide-cut and primitive rugs. The show binding creates a thicker edge that works well with the higher loops of primitive rugs.

Finishing your rug is as important as making sure your loops are even and your tails are trimmed. Why do less than your best effort on the last step when you have invested your time and money in the project? Many people have told me they dislike the finishing step, but I find it relaxing and it is such a pleasure to see the rug once it is complete.
