Sheri Bennett knew something was missing in the hallway every time she'd walk to her kitchen. That something was a runner to warm up the floor and add beauty and color to the area. She saw the pattern for Mighty Oak Runner and knew it would be the perfect piece to perk up the space.
Sheri instantly knew that the design was perfect for her favorite #9 cut because of the size of the motifs. She did all the color planning and collected dark navy textures to use as a background. She picked up the plaid for the border at a folk art show. She focused on making sure the color of the leaves transitioned easily from one to the next. She wanted to avoid an abrupt change. She accomplished that by using texture in the leaves, both green and red, to produce a subtle shift from leaf to leaf.
When Sheri discovered that the finished rug was too narrow, Terri Schafer kindly agreed to do the braiding for the rug.
