"In this still life, I hooked light as it was reflected and refracted by the facets of a crystal bowl. The shape of the oranges inside the bowl was broken up or refracted. Each facet or square of the bowl was treated separately, hooked as patches of color. Gradually the bowl took on the look of crystal. Reflected sunlight is scattered around the background. It’s evenly split by the prismatic quality of the crystal into a tiny rainbow. This hooking was chosen as a Readers' Choice and was on the cover of the June/July/Aug. 2010 issue of RHM."
