Dimensions: 35" x 30"
Materials: #3- to 4-cut wool on linen
Adapted from a painting by Paul Signac and hooked by Susan M. Cunningham, Laramie, Wyoming, 2009.
Featured in: Celebration XX

"This adaptation of an 1890s painting by Paul Signac was a delight to hook, right up to the end--no background and no grass! I changed the held object from a limp looking flower to a glowing orb. I changed the area under his extended arm to a gray plaid wool overdyed with orange, which gives the look of a paisley fabric. Teacher Ann Taylor helped me tweak the face by changing just 4 to 5 loops. My husband suggested changing Signac's large blue shaded area at lower left to different values of blue circles against a darker blue background."
