Satu is part of a series called Faces of the Houston Zoo. "It is created from a photo I took of one of the male tigers at the Houston Zoo who prowls around his exhibit."
"I am intrigued by the use of crazy color in this rug, and how well it works to create an image of the tiger. I wanted to work with greens and grays, to see what they would do in a rug. I tried to push as much green in the rug as it would allow."
- April DeConick, Celebration Hall of Fame 2018
