Fruits of the Earth

My 20-year Journey With an Art Nouveau Portrait

By: Amzi Collins
Fruits of the Earth

I started this pattern over 20 years ago at a Teacher Trainee Workshop. Yes, that is what I said, 20 years. And to make it even more of a challenge, it is on burlap. Yes, burlap.
The course was to learn to hook a portrait. The face, neck, chest, and hair were the only parts of the pattern that were covered in the class. Most patterns have one or two difficult motifs to work out. This pattern has everything I find difficult to hook: eyes, hair, fruit, hands, clothing, lettering. All in one pattern. Yikes.
