Midwinter Spice

Gingerbread and Holly

By: Joanne Page

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Growing up in England, it was common practice not to put the tree up until Christmas Eve and certainly not until the week before Christmas. When we came to America, we almost missed getting a Christmas tree that first year because we left tree shopping so late. Now, afterliving in North Carolina for over twenty years, our decorations start to go up in the first week of December, and usually stay up until Twelfth Night.
