The Mysterious Allure

The art of rug hooking holds a great deal of allure, but “allure” is one of those words with multiple meanings. Allure is also a rug pattern designed by Pearl McGown, copyrighted in 1950. This is the first of several articles documenting my work on this wonderful room-sized rug, which has become my tribute to venerable teachers and rug hookers not only of the twentieth, but also of the twenty-first century.
