The Mysterious Allure

The art of rug hooking holds a great deal of allure, but “allure” is one of those words with multiple meanings. Allure is also a rug pattern designed by Pearl McGown, copyrighted in 1950. This is the first of several articles documenting my work on this wonderful room-sized rug, which has become my tribute to venerable teachers and rug hookers not only of the twentieth, but also of the twenty-first century.

This article is from the Spring 2016 issue. For more information on our issues, check out our issues page.

Beautiful, can wait to see it finished. This caught my attention the very first time I saw it. Love the colourfulness.
