"This is my most favorite rug. It was done at Maryland Shores Rug Camp with Nancy Blood. It was Best of Show at the Maryland State Fair in 2004. I changed the center from a geometric design to a floral motif designed by John Dearle (one of William Morris’s designers). My next concern was all the 'greenness' of the piece. Nancy solved this by having me use five variations of green created by using the same dye formula over lavender, light blue, light green, peach, and gray. This was a lovely idea and saved the rug from becoming monotonous. I love the colors and the central flower, which ties it all together."
- Carol Scherer, Celebration Hall of Fame 2018
