"Japanese Mosaic combined the two types of hooking I seem to always come back to: flowers and geometrics. It came about after finding Kitty Pippen’s quilt of the same name in a quilting magazine called Quilting with Japanese Fabrics by Kitty Pippen. The challenge of this rug was taking the ideas of the Japanese fabrics and modifying them to design the different sections of the rug without the flowers overtaking the rug’s geometric nature. It was also the first time I had ever worked with a #2-cut. I must say this rug was a lot of fun."
