"Tiffany is a commercial pattern interpretation of a stained glass piece, so each motif must be outlined. After hooking most of the sky, I began the irises and stems and realized that the 5-cut I was using was too wide. Frustration ruled, so into the closet it went for almost a decade.

Diane Stoffel encouraged me to finish it in mostly 3-cuts. My favorite parts are the lake, the river, and the hills in the distance due to the effects of depth of field. I believe this quality can be produced best by the fine shading of narrow cuts."
